Scholarship

Over the years, the Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Sigma Nu has created and maintained a solid reputation of achievement at Oklahoma State University. Our tradition of academic excellence has not fallen short of that reputation with a house full of exceptional scholars, currently including eight ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholars, a Regent Scholar, a Bill Gates Millennium Scholar and a National Merit Scholar. As a chapter, we remained among the elite by achieving an overall 3.112 GPA in the fall of 2009. More than seventeen percent of our brothers earned perfect 4.0 GPAs as well as over twenty-five percent earning a 3.5 or higher, giving us the 5th highest grades among all OSU fraternities.  Our brotherhood earned a collective GPA higher than the IFC, average Greek, average all male non-Greek , and average all non-Greek GPAs. After signing a 2009 pledge class in which over fifty percent received financial aid for academic excellence, we are continuing to set the bar higher for incoming pledges. With a required minimum of ten study hours per week, Sigma Nu will provide the necessary leadership and additional resources to make the incoming freshman college experience as fulfilling as possible. During the candidate process, we work very closely with each individual candidate to make sure they are doing well on their tests and are able to meet with older members in the same field of study.  As a result of our dedication to academics with our freshman, our pledge class this year placed 3rd overall among all the pledge classes on campus with a 3.21 GPA. Starting this year, six of our recently graduated brothers are pursuing degrees at graduate schools, many of which are ranked among the top 25 nationally in their respective categories. Some of those schools include: The University of Rochester, the University of Illinois College of Law, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and the Oklahoma State University School of Accounting.

Academics are one of the most direct and beneficial ways one can impact a house. We hold grades with the utmost importance as that is why we are here, to better our education.

For the 2009-2010 school year our current members accumulated, since their freshmen year, a total of $300,815 worth of scholarships that have been documented through our Scholarship Chairman.
